Workshop on “Circular Economy Transition in Smart Specialization Strategy”, Ministry of Environment and Energy

On Thursday September 19^th 2019, a workshop on “Circular Economy Transition in Smart Specialization Strategy” took place at the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. The focus of this workshop was the presentation of the mapping of the key aspects of the National Strategy on Circular Economy (CE) in relation with the Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) and the discussion on the implementation of these strategies identifying the needs, barriers and strengths in Greece. Ministers, Region officials, Town mayors, firm owners and many more stakeholders relevant to circular economy composed the audience in this participatory workshop, sharing their views on how the challenges of CE can be overcome and the opportunities to be exploited.
