Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, as a member of the Women Climate Leaders Network (WCLN) of the European Investment Bank (EIB), supports the promotion of the IFIB Turin Statement.
The Statement urges the European Commission to place the circular bioeconomy at the centre of Europe’s strategy for competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable development. Strengthening the circular bioeconomy is essential for restoring natural capital, reducing emissions, improving resource efficiency, and building more resilient regional value chains.
This initiative seeks to ensure that the upcoming European Bioeconomy Strategy results in a concrete action plan and a future Bioeconomy Act capable of advancing Europe’s green transition.
Prof. Koundouri encourages colleagues and partners who share this vision to endorse and disseminate the Statement within their networks.
