On Thursday, October 20, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri gave the keynote speech at the 10th edition of STRATEGICA International Conference: Sustainable Development and Strategic Growth. Her speech focused on “Accelerating SDG-based Sustainability Transition”.
Prof. Koundouri connected the dots between four major policy initiatives – the SDGs, the European Green Deal, the European Semester, and the EU recovery plan, and showcase actionable strategies for policymakers that can guide EU-wide and national economic recovery in line with the EU’s overarching sustainability agenda. She also argued that the transformation to sustainability should be science-and-innovation-driven and introduce relevant aspects of her work (research projects, innovation accelerators and science-policy interface building) under the Alliance of Excellence for Research & Innovation on Aephoria that she leads.
The STRATEGICA International Conference is an academic and scientific event organized by the Faculty of Management from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Romania (SNSPA) in partnership with the National Bank of Romania. This year the main theme is centered around “Sustainable Development and Strategic Development”, where professionals from all over the world offer an insight and contribute with possible solutions to a modern, sustainable and innovative economy and society.
