Societal and Economic Implications of the Green Transition, focusing on Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece

On Wednesday, December 13th, Professor Phoebe Koundouri participated on the Societal and Economic Implications of the Green Transition, focusing on Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece, organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations #ECFR
The panel titled “The Future of Regional Cooperation” highlighted the importance of the European Green Deal for energy security amid uncertainties like Russia’s war in Ukraine. It emphasized the need for cross-border cooperation and innovative technologies to attract resources and fortify the regional supply chain.
Professor Koundouri talked among others on how the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector emissions tend to form in Greece by 2050, and how it will be shaped by 2030 on a global scale, the Descent Work Sustainable Economic Growth, Life on Land, Life Below Water, Affordable & Clean Energy, following the SDGs’ goals.
