In the first week of May, Professor Phoebe Koundouri visited Brussels to attend a series of important engagements. Here are the highlights of her trip:
- European Research Council (ERC) meetings: Prof. Koundouri participated in a number of important meetings held at the European Research Council (ERC).
- MEP Water Group Dinner at the European Parliament: As a member of the Water Europe Policy Board, she had the pleasure of attending a working dinner presented at the European Parliament and discussing the final amendment proposals for the European Waste Treatment Directive with European stakeholders and MEPs
- Launch of the Black Sea SRIA Implementation Plan at the European Parliament: The SRIA Implementation Plan, prepared by the Horizon 2020 Coordination and Support Action Black Sea (CONNECT) in agreement with national governments of the region, will set the foundational work for protecting unique habitats and the health of the Black Sea, while supporting the development of sea-based sectors, boosting the local blue economy.
- Inspiring discussion on SDSN Global Climate Hub: She had the pleasure of participating in an interesting discussion on the SDSN Global Climate Hub with Professor Michael Obersteiner, Director of the Institute for Environmental Change at the University of Oxford.
