On Friday 24th February Prof. Phoebe Koundouri gave a keynote speech on “UN SDSN Global Climate Hub: What is the role of Innovation Acceleration” at the online conference “Startup Entrepreneurship and Green Transition” which was organized by the Center for the Promotion of Start-ups of the Municipality of Piraeus.
The aim of the conference was to provide information and dialogue on the dual transformation of the Greek economy with emphasis mainly on the challenges and options of the green transition and especially in the field of the blue economy.
Αcademics and entrepreneurship and start-up consultants discussed how the green transition is related to start-up entrepreneurship, how green entrepreneurship is related to the green economy and the improvement of social welfare and social justice, how innovation contributes to the green transition of the Greek economy, what are the challenges and options of new businesses to adopt greener practices and criteria, what is the importance of adopting ESG criteria to attract funding.
