| Measuring Sustainable Development discusses the value of measuring progress on the SDGs, and presents the Sustainable Development Report (an annual report produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Bertelsmann Stiftung) and its SDG Index and Dashboards as a tool for helping policymakers and other stakeholders make important decisions about their development priorities.
The SDG Index and Dashboards assess United Nations Member States’ progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranking them in their performance using a combination of official and non-official data and indicators to understand the progress of states on the Goals. In this course, learners will hear from the experts involved in the creation of the Sustainable Development Report; and come to understand the importance of data sources, collection, and the construction of indicators for measuring sustainable development, as well as the methodology behind the creation of the Index.
