Professor Phoebe Koundouri was pleased to speak at the Horasis India Meeting 2024 in Athens, joining a distinguished panel that included Greece’s Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Alexandra Sdoukou; Bernhard Bauhofer, Founder and CEO of Sparring Partners, Switzerland; Nobumitsu Akai, Director of JFR Group, Japan; and Samrendra Mohan Kumar, Co-founder and Managing Director of MitKat Advisory, India.
The panel discussion centered on accelerating the green transition and advancing cleantech solutions in Europe and India. Professor Koundouri highlighted the work of the SDSN Global Climate Hub, which she chairs. As a part of AE4RIA — the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aephoria — the Global Climate Hub develops national and regional strategies to achieve climate neutrality and resilience. These strategies integrate policy, technology, and financial instruments, supported by climate data and systems modeling.
The Hub’s approach is powered by an AI-driven platform, innovation accelerators, and a dedicated training hub to strengthen stakeholder capabilities and support climate action at multiple governance levels.
