Mike Cherrett addressed the contribution of EIT Climate KIC Europe to the creation of a European community of knowledge and innovation. He presented EIT Climate KIC Europe and how it helps the transition to a zero carbon economy.
Marily Konstantinopoulou, talked about how ocean plastics can be recycled through three-dimensional prints (3D Printing) and presented the Laskaridis Foundation project “Second Nature”.
Roelof Moll addressed that BRIGAID project will help Europe cope with disaster risk reduction and manage the increasing impact of natural hazards such as – floods, droughts, extreme weather conditions, heat waves and mega-fires.
Prof. Michael Litaor, high lightened that the Mediterranean basin has a water scarcity problem and therefore needs water treatment and desalination facilities, stressing that “we need to use the available water resources by cleaning them with phosphates and nitrogenous elements so that they can be exploited for the needs of livestock farming and agriculture”.
