On the 6th of October Prof. Koundouri gave a speech on “the UN SDSN SEAs Initiative” at the Panel: “The sea is forever: towards a route of regeneration” of the Barcolana Sea Summit supported by the Regenerative Society Foundation.
Barcolana Sea Summit, took place in Trieste from the 6th to the 9th of October 2021, was the first multilateral dialogue on the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems, a new route towards increased environmental awareness and a regenerative socio-economic model.
The event’s focus was the sustainability and regeneration of sea ecosystems, where different stakeholders (government representatives, academia, companies, scientists and many more) will share ideas and solutions on how to trace a new route towards sustainability, with long-term focus.
