“Balkans Go Circular” Conference

On 15th and 16th December 2022, Circular Economy Balkan Beacons (CEBB) project, co- funded by EIT Climate-KIC, organised the “Balkans Go Circular” Conference. The goal of the “Balkans Go Circular” conference was to bring together all relevant actors from the region who can encourage the process of transition to a circular business model, but also to offer systemic solutions for systemic challenges that all economies are currently facing, through the presentations of the greatest experts in this field.

On Day 1, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri gave a keynote speech on Sustainable Finance: A crisis element for the sustainability transition. On Day 2, Prof Chrysi Laspidou participated in a panel discussion with the topic “A complex reality demands complexity related solutions – What works and what does not work in a circular world?” On Day 2, Mrs Lydia Papadaki participated in the presentation of CEBB project presenting key outcomes and insights from ATHENA RC contribution in 2022. In 2022, ATHENA RC directed CEBB research on the macro perspective unwrapping the impacts of circular strategies on the economic and social growth as well as the reduction of the CO2 emissions.
