At the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night (MEDNIGHT) in Xanthi, held on Friday, 26 September 2025, our researchers proudly represented AE4RIA – Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria – and the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) of the Athena Research Center, under the direction of Professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri.
Dr. Ioannis Arampatzidis and Dr. Anni Triantafyllidou presented the initiatives and programs of the SDU, highlighting how research contributes to sustainability, environmental protection, and social innovation.
MEDNIGHT is an annual celebration of science that emphasizes the essential role of researchers in addressing global challenges. Through interactive sessions and open dialogue, our team engaged with young people and citizens, sharing ideas and demonstrating the tangible impact of scientific research on everyday life.
During the event, we had the opportunity to connect with the public, exchange perspectives, and illustrate how research can drive meaningful change in society.
